From Talkeetna to Seward, our friends at CIRI Alaska Tourism have some great deals for August travel. Above, a bird’s eye view of the Kenai Fjords Wilderness Lodge on Fox Island. Scroll down for some great deals. But FIRST, let’s review the special WINE DINNER scheduled for Sept. 1, 2012 at the Talkeetna Alaskan Lodge!
Don’t miss the Fall Wine Dinner at the Talkeetna Alaskan Lodge. The dinner is $98 per person. Stay overnight on Sept. 1, 2012 for $149 per room. Call (888)959-9590. Wines by Antinori. Yumm. Really–check out the courses: Asian Inspired Salmon Tartar, Duck Confit on a Bed of Mixed Greens, Roasted Portabella-Proscuitto Napoleon…plus the obligatory “Medallion of Beef”. Good Heavens. Nobody will go hungry. Plus there’s a special “paired” wine with each course.
Okay–ready for adventure?? Check out these deals:
1. Talkeetna Adventure savings. Save a full 20 percent off of your room at the Talkeetna Alaskan Lodge when you book an adventure activity, including:
a. Denali Zipline Tours.
b. Denali Flightseeing with Glacier Landing
c. Mahay’s Jetboat Adventures
You’ll love the lodge. Take a look around the lobby for memorabilia from Bradford Washburn’s early expeditions on Denali. Then look out the window. See that big white mountain? Is there any question why they call it “The Great One”. Call (888) 959-9590 . LEARN MORE.
2. Room with a Cruise in Seward: Save 20 percent.
This is a special “Stay and Play” package at the Seward Windsong Lodge. The lodge is located just out of downtown Seward on the way to Exit Glacier. There’s an AWESOME restaurant on-site: The Resurrection Roadhouse. Get the “Bacon Bleu Burger” (recommended by Dee Dee Kay). Or, my radio co-host Erin Kirkland prefers the Veggie Burger (with bacon, of course). I am not making this up.
Your package also includes a Kenai Fjords National Park Cruise with Kenai Fjords Tours. This is the Mother of all Seward Glacier Cruises. Call (877)-777-4079 Don’t miss it!
3. Stay in the middle of Resurrection Bay at the awesome Kenai Fjords Wilderness Lodge on Fox Island. Your all-inclusive adventure starts at the dock in Seward. Sail out to the lodge (it takes about 30 minutes). You’ll get there in time for a lunch prepared by their resident chef. Check things out on the island: kayaking, fishing, beachcombing, exploring. Then settle in for the evening at the lodge. The next day, sail around Resurrection Bay with Kenai Fjords Tours (or upgrade to the National Park Tour). I’ve stayed on Fox Island with the family. I’ve sent my relatives out there, too. EVERYBODY has a great time. Of course, you can add extra days if you JUST CANNOT BEAR THE THOUGHT of returning to civilization. HA.
