If you’re an airline NUT (#AvGeek, #AirlineNerd), you’ll LOVE the new Alaska Airlines book put together by Cliff and Nancy Hollenbeck. The book originally was commissioned as a gift to Alaska’s employees for the airline’s 80th birthday. But about 1,000 copies were set aside for sale here in Alaska. I picked up two of them at Costco this week. Flip Todd, of Todd Communications, the local distributor, summed it up:

” The book is filled with vintage photos gathered from the collections of dozens of employees and their descendants. It is the most complete photo history of the airline that now operates more than 160 aircraft. It graphically shows the history of an early airline competing against dog sleds for business to today’s carrier flying to 90 cities in Alaska, the Lower 48, Hawaii, Canada and Mexico.”

You can also order the book from Todd Communications.

Don’t miss out on other GREAT Alaska Airlines deals, including:
Anchorage-St. Louis $457rt
Anchorage-Kansas City $457rt
Anchorage-LAX $309rt (double miles through Sept. 4, 2012)

IN THE AIR: Alaska Airlines and GOGO Inflight wi-fi are offering 15 minutes of FREE inflight wi-fi this month on flights between Alaska and the West Coast.

GOIN’ M-O-B-I-L-E-! Don’t fuss around with printed boarding passes anymore. You can generate them on your phone using Alaska’s new mobile site or mobile app.
