Alaskans fly year-round. Safety is paramount, especially during “Winter ops” like this flight between Fairbanks and Coldfoot.
We flew with Todd Mackinaw of Air Arctic. Fellow passengers were on the flight over the Arctic Circle–to see the mountains of the Brooks Range and to get their “Arctic Circle Crossing” certificate. Some planned to spend the night to search for the northern lights!
Check out the awesome views! And check out the “Circle of Safety” program with the Federal Aviation Administration’s (FAA) Safety Team and the Medallion Foundation.
