Big plug for Passports with Purpose

Hey–we had a great time at the EPIC kick-off party for Passports with Purpose down in Seattle last week. The Hotel 1000 put on a great spread with SNACKS and good wine.

There was an exciting, eclectic group of travel bloggers present, including the irrepressible Beth Whitman (wanderlustandlipstick.com), uber-Uke player Pam Mandel (Nerdseyeview.com) and Mommy-bloggers Michelle Duffy (Wandermom.com) and Debbie Dubrow (Deliciousbaby.com). Tying it all together: Seattle PR Maven Meg Paynor (oops…she moved to San Francisco!). Above, left to right: Meg, Debbie, Beth, Michelle and Pam.

It’s great to be a part of this grand adventure to build something awesome each and every year. Those who have followed the progress  may recall past projects: fundraiser for Heifer Int’l, building a school in Cambodia and building a whole VILLAGE in India. This year’s project is dedicated to raising funds to build libraries in Zambia. Learn all about it HERE.

The fun part of this project (Hmm…there are lots of fun part, actually), is buying $10 tickets to win the GOB….I mean a major GOB of travel prizes. Cruises, luxury digs and all manner of techno-gadgets.

We’re offering copies of the new 2012 TourSaver books. The winning bidder will receive a copy of both the Alaska TourSaver and the Seattle TourSaver…even tho’ the Seattle book isn’t quite done yet. HA!

So surf on over to the site. Explore it. Learn about the GREAT project in Zambia and take a gander at all the TALENTED and ENGAGING travel bloggers that participate. Hey–sign up for some of them. They are my friends. They are smart and witty. Many are really good-looking. HAHA. All are committed to the cause. What’s not to love?

Here at the Alaska Travelgram, we wish you a Merry Christmas. And however you celebrate this Holiday season, it’s our sincere hope that you include Passports with Purpose as you rejoice!
