Around the Sound (Puget Sound)

In Adventure, Alaska Travelgram by scott

Wow. Took a great trip around Puget Sound yesterday. I’m bunked down in Seattle enjoying “My Suite Life” at Homewood Suites by the Convention Center. Right downtown. Surprise: there’s a 2-for-1 coupon for the Homewood Suites in the Seattle TourSaver!
I like this place–free breakfast and dinner (with wine/beer) Mon-Thu. Tonight it was BBQ Pork Sandwiches. Yesterday, it was chicken and pasta. And the breakfast is good. The wi-fi is free, as it’s meant to be.
Getting to the ferry is easy in downtown Seattle. After rolling on in Seattle, we rolled off in Bainbridge for the trip up to Poulsbo. Just a quick stop at another hotel we have in the Seattle TourSaver: the Poulsbo Inn. Again: free internet, free parking and free breakfast. Love it.
Across the Hood Canal Bridge and up to Port Townsend. We didn’t have much time there because of the ferry schedule. But we found some great music and a good cup of coffee at “Better Living Through Coffee”. Nice.
From there, we caught the ferry over to Whidbey Island, then over to Mukilteo (say that three times fast without laughing!). Then, back home to Homewood Suites.
Nice little junket. I fleshed it out a little bit in this Alaska Dispatch article. You can see the whole photo album here.
