Juneau, Alaska trip report

In Adventure, Destination, Interests, Juneau, Trip Report by scott

Greetings from beautiful downtown Juneau. I flew in this morning from Anchorage on Alaska Airlines. I used my “Constituent Fare” which provides for a discount of up to 40 percent. It worked for me. If you have a “MyAlaskaAir” account, Alaska Air should have dropped in a “Discount Code” which you can see by clicking on “My Discount Codes” when you sign into your online account. I’m here to talk with my state legislators about important issues.  Now is a great time to visit with your Alaska state legislators, according to Lorene Palmer, who runs Juneau’s Convention and Visitors Bureau. Lorene and I had lunch at the Hangar, which sits on a dock overlooking the water. I ordered the Halibut Taco. DEEE-LICIOUS!  It’s a glorious day in Juneau.   If you want to travel to Juneau to visit your Alaska state legislator, three hotels are offering deals. I’m staying at the Driftwood Lodge, which offers rooms for $39 to Constituents. It’s right downtown and the Sandpiper Restaurant is right next door. Yum! The Juneau Hotel also offers a special rate for Constituents: just $69 per night. Do you like to stay out by the airport? Stay at the Frontier Suites. The rate is $79.  I always rent from Avis. Nice new Impaler. HA!Looking East from the Driftwood Lodge
