Grab your binoculars and don your walking shoes Saturday mornings this summer from 8 – 10 a.m. for the Potter Marsh Bird Walks. Head to the Potter Marsh boardwalk located along the scenic Seward Highway and take a FREE guided stroll while learning about the area birdlife. Whether a beginning birder or an expert winged-thing enthusiast there is fun to be had for the whole family. No lenses? No problem! Binoculars are available for use.
b. Inspired, Inventive and Irreverent! Featuring some of the best contemporary craft pieces in the Anchorage Museum’s collection, this exhibit covers a wide range of finely made, innovative work including textiles, woodworking, basketry and mixed media. Featured artists include Carla Potter, ceramics; Mark Wedekind, wood furniture; Rika Mouw, jewelry; and Fran Reed, fish skin.
c. Every Wednesday enjoy the tunes of Air Force Band of the Pacific including Top Cover, The Greatlanders, Alaska Brass and Dixie Express. Downtown comes alive with the sounds of music during Music in the Park events. This FREE concert series gives families, residents, downtown workers, and visitors a chance to get together and enjoy music with different musicians performing each week.
