Get your tickets for the Alaska Aviation Heritage Museum‘s Salmon Bake and Fly-By on July 4 with celebrity guest Capt. Phil Harris from “Deadliest Catch”.

And yes, Capt. Phil is bringing Cornelia Marie along–that’s who the giant Bering Sea fishing vessel is named after (home ported in Kodiak, btw!).

Part of the fun this year is an auction for rides on vintage aircraft, including the Grumman Goose and the Grumman Widgeon. Bid high and bid often to win one of these unique flights!! I’ve flown in a Grumman Widgeon–but the photo below is as close as I’ve gotten to a Grumman Goose:

The Salmon Bake event is held from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. and costs $25 for adults and $15 for children. Located on the shore of Anchorage’s Lake Hood, the nation’s busiest and largest seaplane base.
