Celebrate Independence Day at Aviation Museum!

Get your tickets for the Alaska Aviation Heritage Museum‘s Salmon Bake and Fly-By on July 4 with celebrity guest Capt. Phil Harris from “Deadliest Catch”.

And yes, Capt. Phil is bringing Cornelia Marie along–that’s who the giant Bering Sea fishing vessel is named after (home ported in Kodiak, btw!).

Part of the fun this year is an auction for rides on vintage aircraft, including the Grumman Goose and the Grumman Widgeon. Bid high and bid often to win one of these unique flights!! I’ve flown in a Grumman Widgeon–but the photo below is as close as I’ve gotten to a Grumman Goose:
The Salmon Bake event is held from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. and costs $25 for adults and $15 for children. Located on the shore of Anchorage’s Lake Hood, the nation’s busiest and largest seaplane base.

“Little Bit Crazy” will provide live music. Enjoy the silent and live auction, meet book authors, bid on the plane rides. The BBQ includes salmon, burgers, hotdogs, salads and soda. There’s also a beer/wine garden. Call now: (907) 248-5325.

RAFFLE: Capt. Phil also is raffling off some fly-by adventures, which include dinner at Humpie’s. You have until June 30 to purchase your raffle tickets.Call now: (907) 248-5325.
