I love the Alaska Ferry

In Adventure, Alaska Travelgram, Cruises by scott

Actually it’s called “Alaska’s Marine Highway”. And it really is a road between many of our far-flung communities.

Our entire family loves sailing on the ferry–and we’ve enjoyed stopping at communities like Cordova, Sitka, Wrangell and Kodiak!

Here’s a round-up of several specials now available on Alaska’s Marine Highway:

a. Driver goes free. Yep. Unlike the cruise ships which sail up from Seattle, the ferry can actually take your car or RV. And the driver goes free when you sail on a round-trip itinerary. This special is available all summer, until Sept. 30. Now, you can make your reservations online!sunset

b. The “See Alaska Pass” allows travelers in Southeast Alaska to save up to 25 percent! This plan is perfect for walk-on passengers who want to visit Ketchikan, Wrangell, Petersburg, Sitka, Juneau, Skagway or Haines. You have to start or end your trip in Prince Rupert, BC, Haines or Skagway. The pass costs $160. Take your time exploring these communities–all travel must be completed by Sept. 30. The pass is good for either northbound or southbound travel. It’s a one-way pass.

More specials all summer long. Visit the website to learn about the 30 percent discount to Pelican from Juneau–and about the “Golden Circle” route through Haines and Skagway.
