A little dusty from the long trail

In Adventure, Alaska Travelgram by scott

Just got done skiing the Tour of Anchorage. Whoo-boy. First, a big shout-out to my friends at Laughing Lotus Yoga Studio here in Anchorage. Here’s a photo of me with Star, one of the lunchtime instructors.

Without the stretches and bends in class–I would be in a  WHEELCHAIR after my 25K ski today. Check their website for class schedule. Lately, I’ve been taking Bikram (hot) yoga from Rick, but there are special classes for Forest Yoga–even a pre-natal class.

Owners Svia and Kim are planning the Second Annual Fly-in Solstice Retreat at Prince William Lodge. The package includes four full yoga practices, all gourmet healthy meals, boat ride around the bay, sauna, hiking and more. Only 8 spaces available. The dates are June 19-21st and the cost is $695 before May 15th. Call to Reserve: (907)243-YOGA.

Hey–I’ve got a couple of free passes for a class at Laughing Lotus. Drop me a note and tell me why you’d like to try a class. You know: Want to feel better? More flexibility? Meet new friends! HAHA. Really–Laughing Lotus is a great community. Send me a note here: [email protected] Tell me your story! Don’t forget to include your address. Check out their facebook group.

I’m not kidding–the Yoga practices make me a better skier. Here I am on the trail today (skis, poles and waxing advice courtesy of Alaska Mountaineering and Hiking).
