Access & Travel:

  • Alaska Airlines adding new nonstop service from Boston, Boise, and Spokane
  • Southwest Airlines now offering flights from Denver and Las Vegas

Accommodations:

  • Salted Roots Basecamp expanding with a café, wine bar, and room upgrades
  • The Voyager Inn reopening under new management near Elderberry Park
  • Aspen Suites Hotel Anchorage Downtown now open with 120 studio-style rooms

Outdoor Recreation:

  • Anchorage recognized as a Runner Friendly Community and Bicycle Friendly Community
  • Designated a 2026 Trail Town by the International Mountain Bicycling Association

Culture & Attractions:

  • New exhibits at the Alaska Native Heritage Center, including Nats’itsatna and Dena’ina Quht’ana, as well asupdated Identity Galleries and expanded cultural storytelling spaces
  • New Anchorage Museum exhibits including Song of the Seasons by Michaela Goade and Sikuliaq to Shore

City Enhancements & Public Art:

  • Additional Indigenous place name markers across parks and estuaries
  • New Anchorage Mushing District arch on Fourth Avenue

  • Summer concerts featuring artists like Jo Koy, Yonder Mountain String Band, and Ty Dolla Sign
