Love letter to Alaska

In Alaska Travelgram by scott

On the banks of the Chena River last fall.

A little background: A couple of months ago, our friends at Holland America Line had a contest. Travelers were invited to write a love letter to Alaska. The whole scheme was part of HAL’s 75th anniversary of doing business in Alaska. HAL really promoted it Outside, since the idea was to sell cruises again to Alaska.

But since I live here, my entry was a little different. After all, I wasn’t dreaming of Alaska. I live here with my family. And yes, I’m in love with the place.

So, yeah, my approach was a little different. I didn’t win–but I had a good time writing a love letter to Alaska. I worked hard to keep it under 250 words, tho’. HAHA.

Would you write a love letter to Alaska? Would you like to share it with the class? I’ve got a (small) prize for EVERYONE who sends in an entry. Keep it short (250 words of less).

Send your “Love Letter to Alaska” to me here: [email protected] . Please feel free to send along photos, too. Also, please include your full name and address if you’d like for me to send you your prize! See mine, below:
