Palmer Museum of History and Art

Wasilla and Palmer have a lot going on this summer.

The Iditarod Sled Dog Race headquarters is must-see .  Watch race footage and view trophies, displays, and photos in the Iditarod Museum. Check out the other museums, including the Wasilla Museum (new location downtown) .

Knik River Lodge.

Outside of Palmer, the Knik River Lodge is hosting special events all summer at the end of the road. Think wine tastings, yoga retreats, “paint nights” … the works).   There are special rates at the lodge for Alaskans, as well as for the helicopter rides that take off from the lodge’s back door!

Baby musk oxen at the farm (aka “Alaska click-bait”)

You can’t miss the beautiful gardens at the Palmer Museum (  Pictured, top) either – stop in before you head to the Musk Ox Farm . We love the MUSK OXEN!

Settler’s Bay Coastal Park

Plus, lots of trails around the core area to socially distance yourselves – check out the new Settler’s Bay Coastal Park just north of Wasilla. Lots of folks are offering Alaskans-only deals too. Don’t miss them…it’s your invitation to enjoy some summer fun in the Valley! Y-a-h-o-o-o! Mat-Su!
