Hatcher Pass and Independence Mine are open for the summer. The mine is being managed by Salmon Berry Tours & Travel this summer and they are offering new walking tours, field lectures, gear rental and a snack for the first time. Take a hike on some of the amazing trails – Reed Lakes, Gold Mint and Gold Cord are some of our favorites – and then head to the mine for a step back in history. It’s the perfect day trip from Anchorage, but turn it into a weekend getaway!
