Following the Ravn Alaska accident Oct. 17, 2019 on the Dutch Harbor airport runway and subsequent cancellation of scheduled flights, Security Aviation is offering individual seat-fares on charter flights starting tomorrow, Saturday, Oct. 26, 2019.

“Security Aviation has been flying the Cessna Conquest to Dutch Harbor for 34 years,” said the company’s president, Joe Kapper. “We also fly out to Adak, Shemya and Attu pretty frequently,” he said.

An Anchorage-based travel agency, Alaska Travel Source, will handle reservations for the flights. “Tomorrow’s flight is full (Saturday), so we’re booking seats for next Tuesday’s flight,” said Bill Beck of Alaska Travel Source. Travelers can call the agency at (907)522-1299 to make arrangements between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. Monday-Friday. Reservation requests also may be emailed to [email protected]

Security Aviation’s Cessna Conquest is configured to accommodate seven passengers from Anchorage to Dutch Harbor (up to eight on the return flight). Each traveler is allowed one 40-pound bag and a small item such as a purse or briefcase. The cost is $1,250 one-way, per person.

Flights are scheduled to depart on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays at 8:00 a.m., arriving in Dutch Harbor at 10:45 a.m. Northbound flights are scheduled to depart Dutch Harbor at 11:15 a.m., arriving in Anchorage at 1:30 p.m.

Tickets are non-refundable, although they are transferable. Contact Alaska Travel Source at (907)522-1299 for information and reservations.
