If you’ve got Spring Fever and you want to get out and see the whales, head to Seward. Major Marine Tours offers Gray Whale Watching Cruises each day through May 13. This is your chance to sail to the head of Resurrection Bay and see these giant creatures while they’re on their way to the Bering Sea for the summer. Along the way, watch for puffins, otters, eagles, sea lions and other critters. Oh–and glaciers. It’s all part of the package. Choose the “Spring Fever Package” which includes overnight accommodations at the Harbor 360 Hotel and free tickets to the Alaska SeaLife Center, starting at $109 per person in April ($123 per person in May).  You’ll sail on the Orca Song (pictured, above). The check-in for the cruise is in the hotel lobby, then you walk right out–the boat is tied up about 15 feet from the door!  CLICK HERE for info or more reservations.

THE ORCAS ARE COMING! Major Marine Tours offers the “Orca Quest” cruise just to see the killer whales that prowl the waters of Resurrection Bay! Major Marine’s captains know where the orcas are–and head straight for them! There’s even an on-board “hydrophone” to hear the whales underwater! The “Orca Quest Package” includes the cruise and overnight accommodations at the Harbor 360 Hotel. Packages start at $153 per person, between May 14 and June 10.

Check out the new boat! It’s the “Kenai Fjords 360,” which will be arriving in May, sailing on the Kenai Fjords National Park Cruise.  This  custom-built 98-foot high-speed catamaran will have unobstructed 360 degree views from the third deck! The vessel also has fully-wraparound outside viewing decks on the first and second decks, allowing for ample outside viewing space. Oh…FAST. This boat puts along at 30 knots!
