Did you know you can fly to Fairbanks without passing through the TSA checkpoint? That’s a big benefit with Ravn. I flew the Dash-8 up to Fairbanks last week.
Did I mention how much I love the TSA? Hmm..I didn’t think so. HA
It was just a quick trip. In fact, I left later that evening on an Alaska Airlines flight to Seattle. But that’s another story.
After stopping at the ticket counter, the staff checked my bag and printed my boarding pass in…oh….about two minutes. Then, I strolled downstairs to the “A” gates to catch my flight.
It was a great afternoon for watching Denali on the way north to Fairbanks, but I was seated on the wrong side (starboard).
On the ground, I rented a car from Avis and headed downtown for dinner with a friend at LaVelle’s Bistro. I hear folks talk about other great restaurants, but the salmon salad special was delicious.
