Hey, we’ve got a great “Alaska Travelgram” rate for you at Anchorage’s Inlet Tower Hotel, through May 14, 2015: just $69. You have to mention a special code when you call: “501”. Dial (907)276-0110.

We’ve been spending a fair amount of time at the “PubHouse” on the first floor. OKOK…more time in the “Pub” than the “House”. After all, they have about 100 artisan beers on tap (including many Alaskan brews).

Pick from several of the small plates. My favorites include the lamb meatballs, the Mac + Cheese (NOT like Kraft at all…trust me!) and the Kodiak Scallops. For a “main course”, I opted for the Steak Frites, which is flank steak served over an arugula salad. REALLY GOOD!

The Inlet Tower is close-in at 1200 L St., just across from New Sagaya City Market…and a couple of blocks away from our favorite artisan bakery, Fire Island Bake Shop. There’s free parking, free wi-fi, free airport transfers—and friendly staff.

Hey—there are AWESOME views whether you’re looking out over the Inlet or towards the mountains. Call (907)276-0110 and take advantage of the AWESOME “Alaska Travelgram” rate. And stop in to the PubHouse….even if it’s just for dessert (right: flourless chocolate cake with vanilla ice cream and berries).  Me? I’m a better man for it. And a bigger one, too!
