Our friends at Alaska Airlines FINALLY are dropping the rates between Seattle and Anchorage to under $400. This week’s Club 49 deals include a GREAT bargain to Seattle for just $389 roundtrip. Travel between Jan. 7 and Feb. 2, 2013. But you have to purchase by tomorrow, Thu., Dec. 13, 2012 to get the deal.
Also on the “Sale” shelf this week:
Anchorage-Cordova: $181 roundtrip (Fly Dec. 29-Jan. 26)
Seattle-Cordova: $398 roundtrip (Fly Jan. 7-Feb. 6, 2013)
Juneau-Orange County, CA: $458 roundtrip (Fly Jan. 7-Feb. 6, 2013)
The Club 49 weekly deals are great–but there are other elements to the deal. When you, as an Alaska resident, sign up (Go to AlaskaAir.com/Club49) you get the weekly newsletter with additional deals. This week there are other deals to/from Juneau, Kodiak, Sitka and Petersburg.
Oh–and then there’s the two free bags. Trust me–that comes in handy when you’re traveling with the family.
Finally–one more shout-out for the Alaska Airlines Visa card. It’s not perfect. You still have to pay it back at the end of the month. And Bank of America (Alaska’s credit card partner) STILL charges a 3.0 percent foreign transaction fee on EVERY charge outside the U.S. But overall, the annual $110 coach companion fare and the mileage add-ons (including a 25,000-mile bonus on sign-up) make this a great credit card. It’s worth the $75 annual fee–at least for our family. That’s why we have two of the cards.
