Alaska Airlines: new routes, new deals!

In Airfares, Alaska Travelgram by scott

On the air route beat, Alaska Airlines has two new announcements:

Seattle-Philadelphia starting on June 11, 2012. Flight 32 departs Seattle at 8:35am, arriving in Phildelphia at 4:55pm. Flight 33 comes back from Philly at 5:55pm, arriving at 9:10pm.

Alaska Airlines is offering a limited special between June 12 and July 11, 2012: $557rt. Also, earn DOUBLE Mileage Plan miles between June 11 and Aug. 6, 2012 to/from Philadelphia.

Seattle-Ft. Lauderdale, FL. This is a new route, but it will actually replace the Seattle-Miami, FL nonstop starting July 16, 2012. The Ft. Lauderdale airport is just 27 miles from the Miami airport–and it’s more convenient for cruise passengers. Honestly, it’s a more convenient airport all around (unless you’re connecting to a flight to the Caribbean or South America). Alaska also is offering double miles through Sept. 11, 2012.

You’re all signed up for Club 49, right? Two free bags and such for Alaska residents. Here’s a rundown of the weekly specials–which MUST be purchased no later than this evening, Feb. 9, 2012.

Barrow-Fairbanks $220rt
Anchorage-Phoenix $456rt
Anchorage-Houston $550rt
Fairbanks-Phoenix $558rt
Fairbanks-Houston $658rt

Travel on these specials through March 5, 2012. The best fares are available on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Saturdays.

DON’T FORGET to scoop up Alaska’s AWESOME rates to the L.A. Basin (LAX, LGB, SNA, ONT, BUR) beginning May 25, 2012. Fares start at $295 roundtrip, nonstop between Anchorage and LAX.
