How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love Bacon in Homer, Alaska!

It’s time for an “October-Feast” at Land’s End Resort. Above–another beautiful day on the Homer Spit. It’s the first “Uncorked” dinner of the fall/winter season on Fri., Oct. 7, 2011. I guess the subtitle would be: “How I learned to stop worrying and love bacon”!   Join the folks at the Chart Room Restaurant at Land’s End as Executive Chef Maggie Burns whips up some goodies. “Uncorked” Menu for Fri., Oct. 7, 2011:

-Beer Cheese soup with bacon crumbles and herbed croutons.

-Warm Fall Greens with beets, figs, tempura bacon, goat Cheese and pepper polenta.

-Prosciutto-wrapped shrimp stuffed with a spinach Rockefeller beurre blanc sauce
Wine: Waters Interlude Syrah 2008

-Porterhouse Pork Chop with bacon jam and demi glace
Wine: Montefalco Sagrantino 2006

Bacon Ice Cream with bacon chocolate chip cookies
Wine: Maui Winery Framboise
