No Jet Service into Kotzebue (select days)

They’re fixing the runway. Above, a long shot of the Ralph Wien Airport. There is a scheduled closure for Alaska Airlines‘ jet service. Alaska’s partner, Era Alaska, will be operating supplemental service between Kotzebue and Fairbanks using a Dash-8 with 29 seats. You can see in the photo the gravel runway to the left of the paved slab.

Outbound: Fairbanks-Kozebue Era flight #728, dep 11:15am, arr Kotzebue at 1:00pm

Return: Kotzebue-Fairbanks Era flight #729, dep 1:45pm, arr Fairbanks at 3:30pm

Travelers departing Anchorage can travel on flight #780/#781.

These supplemental flights are available only on the following dates when the main runway is closed to jet traffic:
Aug. 1, 2, 5, 9, 10, 24, 25, 28 and 29, 2011. Also on Sept. 2, 2011.
