Alaska Airlines is kicking off 2011 in style: they’ve brought back their popular “Kids Fly Free” package to Disneyland. Here’s the scoop:

One child, 2-11, flies free with a paying adult.  This special offer applies to either LAX (Los Angeles) or SNA (Orange County) airport. The accompanying child/children must travel on the same itinerary–but will be charged just for the taxes and fees. You must purchase by Feb. 19, 2011 and travel must be completed by Apr. 15, 2011. No travel is permitted Feb. 17-22, Mar. 18-20 or Apr. 1-3, 2011.

If you’re traveling with young kids, the air fare can be the real kicker. That’s because at many of the hotels around Disneyland, kids can stay in the same room as the adults (with existing bedding). So the big-money expense then becomes the tickets to Disneyland. But with Alaska’s package, you can get a 6-day pass for the price of a three-day pass.

Go to the website AlaskaAir.com and click on “vacation packages” under reservations. Remember–you get a 1,500-mile bonus when you make your reservations online. If you really want to earn miles, charge the whole package on your Alaska Airlines Bank of America Visa card.

Alaska prices everything out as a package. So–you get the discounted “tour-based” air fare, discount prices at the hotels, and park tickets. Alaska also can make reservations for shuttle transfers to your hotel, or a rental car. Traveling from Anchorage to LAX  on Feb. 1, returning Feb. 5, a family of four with two adults and two kids (aged 2-11) can stay at the Qaulity Inn hotel near Disneyland for $2,645. That includes air fare from Anchorage, accommodations, a 6-day park pass for everyone, taxes and fees. Without checking around too much, the package price saves you several hundred dollars off what the components would cost separately.

In conjunction with the “Kids Fly Free” special, Alaska offers up to 35 percent off the Disneyland Hotel, discounted park passes–and more. I’ll meet you in Disneyland! So, go online (and get a 1,500-mile bonus) or call (800) 468-2248 today for reservations. I actually called the reservations line today ’cause I couldn’t figure this stuff out. They were very helpful, actually.
