Whoa–Sign up for Uncorked in November at Land’s End Resort in Homer. I took this photo from my room at the resort last month. Land’s End is Alaska’s favorite beachfront resort!!  These food-and-wine events always are sensational. But check out Chef Matt Yore’s “French Spanish Fusion” menu for Fri., Nov. 5, 2010:
First course: Black Truffle Sopa, with potato & chive oil
Wine: La Vielle Ferme Blanc
Salad: Smoked Pheasant, with grilled winter melon and cherry cava vinaigrette
Wine: La Capra Chenin Blanc
Appetizer: Spanish Cheese Course
Cana de cabra with fresh fennel crackers, spiced grapes, and marcona almonds
Wine: Goats Do Roam Rose
Entree: Deconstructed Cassoulet, with duck confit, white bean puree, pork belly, and grilled boar chop
Wine: Perrin Vinsobres Les Cornuds
Dessert: Croissant Bread Pudding, With bittersweet chocolate, cherry port reduction and Mexican chocolate whipped cream
Wine: Warres Warrior Port
