United Airlines returns to Anchorage with seasonal nonstop service between Anchorage and Denver, Chicago and San Francisco. From June 9 to Aug. 30, 2010, United will offer daily service to its three hubs.

United will operate Saturday-only roundtrip service between Anchorage and Chicago between May 22 and June 8 and Sept. 4-25, 2010.
United will be the third carrier offering service between Anchorage and Chicago, in addition to Alaska Airlines and American Airlines. Between Anchorage and Denver, Alaska Airlines and Frontier Airlines offer nonstop service. And between Anchorage and San Francisco, Alaska Airlines already offers a nonstop summertime flight.
Watch for fares to drop as airlines ramp up for the competitive catfight.
