Live from Juneau!

In Adventure, Alaska Travelgram, Consumer by scott

Wow. What a great trip we had to Alaska’s Captial City. We arrived on a bluebird day on Alaska Airlines flight 75 from Seattle. Immediately we went out to pull some crab pots with friends.

On the next day, we headed up to the Mendenhall Glacier with TEMSCO Helicopters. You’ve GOT to watch the video. walkonwater

After seeing it, you’ll want to go on the tour yourself. YOU MUST FLY with these guys! Enjoy a 20 percent DISCOUNT when you call and make reservations and say “I READ ABOUT IT IN THE ALASKA TRAVELGRAM.” Suh-weet.

After that “uplifting experience”, I had to ride the Mt. Roberts Tram down by the Cruise Dock. It’s a great way to jumpstart your hike in the mountains around Juneau.

For breakfast, we stopped in at the Sandpiper Cafe. Delicious Breakfast Burritos. For lunch? Drive across the bridge to Douglas and dine at the Island Pub. I picked the “Island Blue Salad” with a steak. Ahhh…..food for the journey!

mtrobertsIt was time for another trip on the water, so we took out some kayaks near Auke Bay and kayaked around Spoon Island. Again–perfect weather.

We topped off our marine journeys with a halibut trip north of Juneau. Hey–we limited-out. They weren’t the BIGGEST fish, but Heavens, they’re tasty.
