Now is your chance to drive part of the Alcan Highway! Avis has a herd of stranded rental cars down in Skagway, just waiting for folks to drive them up the Alcan to Anchorage or Fairbanks.
Here’s how it works. First–show up in Skagway on Aug. 20 or later. Then, pick up your car at Avis’s office. Remember–this deal is for one-way rentals ONLY to Anchorage or Fairbanks. The rate does not apply if you decide to return the car back in Skagway!
The cost is $50/day, plus 15 percent Skagway tax. Normally, Avis charges a $300 drop charge–but they’re waiving it just to get the cars back “home” to Anchorage or Fairbanks.
