Ooops. It’s not just “Hawaii”. It’s Mai Tais. OK–so “Cruise, Baseball and Mai Tais”. What have they got in common? Hmmm…Kelly Jo at USTravel has travel specials for all of the above. Love it!! Batter up! Okay–full disclosure. I’m headed to SAFECO field next week to see the Mariners stand up to the Toronto Blue Jays.
Here are some great specials in baseball cities that Kelly Jo found:
a. Watch the Mets and the Phillies at Citi Field Aug. 21-24. Stay at the Westin NY/Times Square. G-r-e-a-t midtown location. Rooms start at $299. But the hotel will give you two tickets to the game ($150 value)! . Play ball!
b. Catch the same teams down in Philadelphia (Mets v Phillies) Sept. 11-13 . Stay the Westin Philadelphia for as little as $179 per night. The hotel will offer complimentary valet parking, as well as a special “Philly Overnight” amenity.
c. Watch the Red Sox in Boston. The Westin Copley Place has a host of packages, with rooms starting at $209 per night. Choose from game packages with three teams: the Yankees, the White Sox or the Blue Jays.

CHOOSE TO CRUISE. Wow. The cruise deals are great. Kelly jo found one on the Emerald Princess, leaving from Ft. Lauderdale, FL. This “Eastern Caribbean” itinerary offers three bargain departures, starting at $575.36 per person on Oct, 18, Nov. 1 or Nov. 15. Ports include St. Maarten and St. Thomas. Check with Kelly Jo for the details.
WORLD’S BEST MAI TAI? You’ll find it at the Royal Kona Resort on the Big Island of Hawaii. The first annual “Don the Beachcomber Mai Tai Festival” is on Aug. 22. It’s a $10,000 prize, co-sponsored by Bacardi Rum. There’s a panel of mixologists and some guest judges (pick me!!). HURRY, though. Entries must be submitted by July 29! Ask about the Battle of the BBQ food-tasting contest! Whoo-boy. Sounds like a great party in Hawaii. Kelly Jo can take care of all the details! (907)561-2434.
