Headed to Fairbanks on Era

In Adventure, Airfares, Alaska Travelgram by scott

We’re bound for Fairbanks. It’s just not cold enough here in Anchorage. Of course, we’re traveling on Era Aviation.

Why? Silly, there’s no TSA hassle. We’ll be rolling video later this week, so you can see the STRAIGHT LINE between the curb and your gate. No TSA. What’s that worth?

After picking up our Avis Rent a Car in Fairbanks, we’re going to check out the Ice Alaska exhibit, including the championship ice carving championships.

Then, we’re headed over to the Museum of the North at University of Alaska. This is a great museum–make plans to visit if you haven’t done so. There’s a great mix of modern, indigenous, historical and just plain fun stuff.

Oh, Chena Hot Springs is on the agenda, too. We love the ice museum, including these jousters:

We’ll probably have lunch out there. We’ll check out the tomatoes, which they grow in greenhouses powered by geothermal power. GREAT STORY! I also love the Ice Bar in the Ice Museum. MUST SEE!!
