Car rental woes? Check Turo.com

In Alaska Travelgram by scott

Turo.com is a peer-to-peer car rental app

There’s a nationwide car rental shortage, in case you haven’t noticed. If you can’t find a car, check with Turo.com, the car rental app that connects you with private owners.

I first heard of Turo.com a couple of years ago. But given today’s acute car rental shortage, it’s worth another look, whether you’re looking for a car in Anchorage, Honolulu, Seattle or Salt Lake City.

Check Turo.com terms and conditions when you’re looking at the cars. Here’s a screenshot for Anchorage:

Not all cars are unlimited mileage. No one-way rentals are permitted. You can cancel your reservation without a fee up to 24 hours prior to your pick-up time. Some rentals are available for airport pickup. Just check out the website, enter your dates and scroll through the options.

Here in Alaska, I found Turo.com was available in Anchorage, Fairbanks, Juneau, Homer and Kodiak. There are Turo.com options at almost every major airport in the Lower 48.

There’s a link on the website if you want to sign up as a host and rent your car to visitors.

Have you rented from Turo? How was it? Do you rent your car out to Turo users? How’s it going? Let me know. Send me an email: [email protected]
