Two days ago I took off from K2’s float plane base at Fish Lake near Talkeetna. Our destination: Backside Lake about halfway up the Ruth Glacier, inside Denali National Park. Our pilot, Henny Youngman (yep–THAT Henny Youngman) flew the Beaver around some of the tall peaks, up the Great Gorge and through 747 Pass before landing on the lake at the toe of Backside Glacier. Then, we met up with Joan and Elliott from Alaska Alpine Adventures. We went on a nice hike, before returning for wine and cheese! Ya!
This adventure was another shake-down trip for my new video camera. Check out the video and let me know what you think. Of course, I think it came out pretty good–because I was working with some EPIC material!!!!!!
