Go 4th and Celebrate! Anchorage is tooling up for an awesome Independence Day Celebration. Let’s review:

The Fireworks! Have you noticed? It’s light all night! So the fireworks have been schedule for MIDNIGHT on July 3, spilling over into the morning of July 4. Stay up late and start the celebration with a BANG at Mulcahy Field. They’ll start after the Alaska Baseball League doubleheader with the Anchorage Bucs and Anchorage Glacier Pilots!

The Parade! Scheduled to start at 11am on July 4, it’s preceded by a Pancake Breakfast at 8am and followed by day-long fun and activities at the Delaney Park Strip!

Reading of the Declaration of Independence. This starts at 1:00pm. Don’t miss it.

Call a Soldier. This year’s celebration theme is “Welcome Home”, a tribute to returning troops–and a supportive shout-out to those still stationed far away. Families will be able to call a soldier stationed overseas and military personell stationed here in Alaska will be able to call home for the holiday! Phones provided by GCI.
