Visit Anchorage: Spring Forward!

In Adventure, Alaska Travelgram, Consumer, Travel Deals by scott

Ooooh, that Springtime Sun is bright, huh? And it’s bouncing off  lots of snow–and the longer days mean there’s more time to play! Here are some great ideas:

1. SKI! Did you notice? There’s snow ALL OVER! Whether it’s on the groomed, lighted Nordic trails around the city–or the Alpine resort at Alyeska (pictured above), get those boards out and have a good time. We’ve got friends coming up next week to ski–how ’bout you? In addition to the great skiing at Alyeska, you can turn-and-burn at Hilltop and at Arctic Valley!

2. DINE! There’s a great program right now in Downtown Anchorage, called “100 Days of Downtown Dining”. It’s a great promotion to encourage you to try new restaurants in the heart of Anchorage. Learn more!

3. LEARN! We’re a curious lot here in Alaska’s largest city. Don’t miss the new exhibit by Preston Singletary. Here’s an artist who combines Tlingit Heritage and glass. STUNNING. Check out the planetarium at the Anchorage Museum for a whole host of unique programs. It’s just one part of the museum, which includes a Smithsonian exhibit and a permanent art display that’s just EPIC, imho.

Of course, cruise the site at ANCHORAGE.NET to plan your trip this summer. But don’t miss our crisp winter days. Bring your sunscreen. I am not kidding!!
