Meet GCI’s 4G Smartphone: Samsung Galaxy S II

It’s easy to fall in love with the look and feel of GCI‘s new 4G smartphone from Samsung: the Galaxy S II. It’s all sleek and shiny. BTW, GCI is the first carrier in North America to offer the phone–universally praised by mobile pundits, telecom analysts…and me. HA

The Galaxy phone is three devices in one: a music player, a camera and a smartphone. I travel with my iPod, point-n-shoot and phone. But the Samsung has a robust 8MP camera and I’ve loaded most of my music to the cloud via Google Music. Others use Amazon.  Accordingly, I can import my favorite tunes onto my phone for the plane or the car (plugged into the speakers via a universal jack).

So–that doesn’t even count the new 4G (HSPA+) speeds now available around Anchorage. Check out the new Samsung 4G phone from GCI. Here are some other specials:

1. Get 20,000 Alaska Air miles when you switch to GCI No Limits Phone at home. Unlimited Local/Long Distance Calling: $19.99 per month. You get 10,000 miles for that. Add GCI high-speed Internet for another 10,000 miles.

2. Bring in your iPhone. Order your iPhone from Apple, set it up on your iTunes at home, bring it into GCI and get $450 in GCI service! Now that’s a deal!

3. Trade in your old phone for a shiny new Samsung Galaxy S II. Just $99.99. Of course, Terms and conditions apply. You have to pick a new “tiered service” plan, sign up for a couple of years on a new contract–and have a phone in working order. But it’s worth it!

Visit a GCI Store near you or call (800)800-4800.
