Have you seen the news? Alaska Airlines plans to fly Anchorage-Tokyo/Narita nonstop starting May 13, 2027. The daily flights will last through Sept. 7. Then, no more flights until January, 2028….when it resumes with 3x weekly flights.
This is groundbreaking, in my opinion. It’s possible in part because of the extended range of the 737MAX8: 4,082 miles.This is the same aircraft that Alaska Air flies nonstop from Anchorage to New York’s JFK airport, to Boston and between Seattle and Reykjavik, Iceland. The distance between Anchorage and Tokyo’s Narita Airport is 3,433 miles.
The lowest available price is $998 roundtrip. That’s a SAVER fare, available through June 7. Add $140 for Main. If you want to use your points, I think you can hunt around and find some seats for 60,000 points. But 65K roundtrip (Main cabin) is the best I can find right now.

WI-FI: Variable. The last MAX8 I flew to Seattle from Anchorage had free Starlink…but not on the trip back.
