New activities this summer:
- Veilbreaker Skybridges at Alyeska Resort: Suspended 2,500 feet above the valley floor and spanning a total length of 410 feet, these skybridges offer explorers expansive views of Alaska’s wild landscape.
- Hilltop Bike Park: As the northernmost bike park in North America, Hilltop offers lift-assisted downhill mountain biking, a kid-friendly pump track, and features Finn’s Kitchen, providing a spot to relax and enjoy live music concerts.
- Alaska Native Heritage Center: If you haven’t been, make time this season see this extraordinary living museum. The center has completed significant renovations, unveiling four new exhibits and a remodeled main building adorned with sealskin lamps and murals inspired by porcupine quills. Don’t forget to visit the village sites around the lake!
Special Events coming up:
- Downtown Summer Solstice Celebration: Scheduled for June 22, 2025, this festival transforms downtown Anchorage into a vibrant hub of live music, food trucks, and family-friendly activities to celebrate the longest day of the year.
- 4th of July Festivities: Celebrate Independence Day at Anchorage’s 4th of July Festival! On Friday, July 4, 2025, head to the Delaney Park Strip (between E and I Street) for a day filled with carnival rides, food trucks, craft and farmers’ market vendors, live music, and a beer garden for those 21 and older. This beloved event brings the community together for a festive celebration of summer and patriotism.
- 50th Annual Girdwood Forest Fair: From July 4-6 , 2025, this eclectic fair in Girdwood showcases art, music, and handmade goods, nestled in a scenic forest setting. Vendor Booths: Fri / Sat: 11am – 8pm, Sun: 11am – 6pm. Parade: Saturday at 10am
