The Riverboat Discovery on the Chena River in Fairbanks

Between now and May 1, Alaska residents can purchase up to 10 tickets at 40 percent off on the Riverboat Discovery in Fairbanks.

This is a fun trip–it’s worth the trip to Fairbanks just for the boat ride! See a “touch and go” Bush plane maneuver. Sail by Trail Breaker Kennel, home of Iditarod Champion Susan Butcher’s dogs. Visit the “Chena Village Living Museum”, a replica of an Athabascan village.

You can purchase the tickets now–and pick your dates later.

The 40 percent offer (just for Alaskans) also is available at Gold Dredge 8. This giant dredge operated in Goldstream Valley near Fairbanks for 31 years: from 1928 to 1959. On the tour you can see how the dredge worked and how gold was extracted. There’s also a “living mining museum” since there’s still active gold mining going on in the valley! Plus–ride the Tanana Valley Railroad on a narrow-gauge route around the dredge.

Finally–pan for gold!

Again–you can pick your dates later, as long as you purchase your tickets between now and May 6, 2024.

Don’t miss the opportunity to see two of the top attractions in Fairbanks–at 40 percent off. Remember–this sale is just for Alaska residents.

Watch this video of Fairbanks from the air. It’s got some nice shots of both the Riverboat Discovery and Gold Dredge 8. NOTE: The Riverboat Discovery and Gold Dredge 8 are owned by the Binkley family. The Patriarch, John Binkley, took me and my video camera for a ride in his helicopter! He even took the door off! Enjoy!
