Here are Bill’s specials for the week:
“Want a chance to see Cuba while it’s still legal for Americans to do so? Better run!
“For only the second time in 50 years, we can offer U.S. runners the opportunity to legally take part in the Marabana Havana Marathon or half-marathon, under a special amateur sports license from the U.S. Department of the Treasury.
“The Marabana Havana Marathon and half-marathons will be held on Sunday, November 16. Insight Cuba has created a 4-day, 3-night tour for the event.
“We’ll take care of all the details, so you don’t have to. You’ll receive an introduction to this unique race course which will allow you to jog through Cuba’s colonial and contemporary history on the day of the race. You’ll also participate in Insight Cuba’s special excursions, providing unique access to people and places the average tourist rarely sees.
“You’ll rest and relax at the Meliá Cohiba hotel, a 5-star member of Spain’s renowned Meliá chain. Located right on the famous Malecón, Havana’s five-mile seaside boulevard, runners will find the ideal place for an early morning or late evening jog.
“There are two distinct 4-day itineraries. The “runners” itinerary is for guests who will participate in the Marabana Havana Marathon or half-marathon. They will travel to Cuba with us under our U.S. Department of the Treasury amateur sports license. The “companion” itinerary is for a runner’s companion, who does not plan to run in the marathon, but wants to participate in our licensed people-to-people tour during the race.
AS REQUIRED BY THE U.S. DEPARTMENT OF THE TREASURY, ALL RUNNERS TRAVELING UNDER THE AMATEUR SPORTS LICENSE MUST HAVE A RECORD OF HAVING PREVIOUSLY REGISTERED AND RUN IN AN ORGANIZED RACE OF AT LEAST 13.1 MILES.
“The 4day/3night package is $2495. Flight package from Miami $595 (includes R/T air, visa, and first checked bag). Not long enough? 8 day packages are also available. “
Not exotic enough? Try a different hemisphere!
